Uganda's "gold and coffee" are a significant economic duo, with both commodities topping the company earnings. Gold has become the single largest export, driven by large deposits in the Karamoja region.
Coffee is Uganda's top cash crop and a major foreign exchange earner, with the country recently becoming Africa's top coffee exporter. Both sectors are vital for Uganda's economic growth and we are glad to be part of this.

In 2025, Uganda announced the discovery of over 31 million tons of gold ore,
mainly in the northeastern Karamoja region and Busia district.
This is estimated to contain over 320,000 tons of refined gold
with a value in the trillions of dollars.

The procedure for a purchase is as follows:

  • Seller make an LOI. The quantity and purity of the goods are agreed upon. The seller provides the relevant documents and certificates. The goods are visually inspected and X-rayed.
  •  .A contract is signed and the buyer opens a Transferable Documentary Credit in ABSA bank Kampala, UGANDA. Depositing 100% of the amount guarantees the transaction to take place.
  • All material is 100% melted into new Dore bars in a refining laboratory owned by the Government's Ministry of Mining. The purity and weight of the batch are confirmed and certified.
  • Seller carries out the necessary export procedures, pay export taxes and prepare all documents for export.
  • After the Product has been released for export by the authorities and handed over to the transport company for transportation to the Destination (in Airport Entebbe), the Transferable Documentary Credit is opened and funds transfers to the Seller.

Gold grain

Gold grain, also referred to as gold shot or gold granules, has a rich history that dates back to ancient civilizations. Gold has been admired and valued for its beauty, rarity, and malleability for thousands of years. The use of gold grain can be traced back to early cultures such as the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, who used gold in various forms, including grain, for decorative, religious, and monetary purposes.

Gold grain is essentially small granules or pellets of gold, typically produced by melting gold and then cooling it, allowing the metal to solidify into tiny droplets. These granules can vary in size and are usually made from high-purity gold, often 24-karat (99.99% pure). Gold grain has been utilized for various casting purposes throughout history, and its applications continue to evolve today.
